The event started at 8. After the Morheim intro, I got to do a drawing on stage with Grace and Richie. They did some digital painting and I did an old school pen and ink sketch on paper. We drew while fielding questions from the crowd.
Everyone did great during the demo. After the 40 min drawing session, I placed the sketch in a large envelope. "I'm going to close my eyes and throw this to whoever is making the most noise." That was a ton of fun.
At 10:00 we did a shave off where the crowd got to choose our style. Of course they chose the scoundrel (mutton chops) for our group. I ended up looking like my father in the late 70s.
At midnight everyone got their copies of Diablo3! We talked to the fans and signed boxes until 4:30am. By the end of the night my voice was gone. This was an amazing event and a major highlight of my career. This game is a labor of love built by a team of super dedicated and talented developers. The last 5 years have been a great ride. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. NOW GO KILL SOME DEMONS!!! :)
